Only where he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.

My studio is in the green mountains of Vermont where I have lived with my family for the past thirty-four years. I work part time as an art teacher in the public schools and devote the rest of the time to my artwork. Oil painting was the main focus of my creative life until about seven years ago when I began focusing more on monotypes, a 'painterly' form of printmaking.
I have a small press in my studio and approach monoprinting in an exploratory manner, utilizing its immediacy and experimenting with ghosts and multiple layers. I use a variety of techniques including intaglio, stencil, collagraph, paper lithography and chine colle. I enjoy the spontaneity of the monotype process and the element of chance and the unexpected.

I have exhibited throughout New England and participate in the Art Hop in South Burlington in the fall and in Vermont Open Studios on Memorial Day Weekend in May - a weekend devoted to visiting artists in their studios. My studio is open year round by appointment.
